I still remember the large, wooden desk in my family's cheery yellow schoolroom, the brightness of the Dell computer monitor lighting up the darkness. It was late, but my 12 year old self didn't care, because I was lost in words, ideas, and sentence structures. My Mom came into the room around midnight, granting me my pleas to stay up just a little longer while I added more and more pages, rounding out the scene that was dancing in my head. I absolutely loved writing. I had so many ideas, and not enough time to write them all.

Writing is my passion. Words bring thoughts, feelings, and ideas to life. They have the power to be transformative, engaging, and exciting.

My name is Anna Sovrano, and I am a writer. There's something about saying it like that. It makes you feel empowered, like "I did it! I took the time to write something, and it turned out GOOD."  It makes all the time spent working on that piece worth it.

Before I start a project, I always ask myself the following question. Why is this book worth a year of my life? There needs to be something about the theme, the technique, or the research that makes the time spent on it worthwhile.
